In my previous post I mentioned creating a patreon account to try and generate a reliable income stream, and that I would be sharing some patterns for things you can make yourself. These wombats are from the first pattern, with variations for making a soft toy (if sewing is your thing) and out of sheet material like wood or MDF (or possibly gingerbread or chocolate. I haven't tested those yet but am pretty sure it should work.

The next pattern will be going up shortly, and is for this adorable kangaroo.

So, since my last post (about a year ago) a few things have changed. I've worked, I've been to Romania on an archaeological dig, I found out one of my jobs is being axed due to organisational financial changes.

I have signed on to have a stall at Bluebird Handmade Market in Moonah on Sunday November 20 and December 18, and I'll be at designed:made November 25-27 at the Hobart Town Hall.

I have also started up a patreon page, where people who want to can pledge a monthly amount  to support me creating art while paying bills and eating regularly. I return, I will be creating patterns for things you can make yourself. And possibly sending you a signed photo of one of my pet chickens, depending how much you pledge.
Here's a photo of Rodger the tiny rooster of adorableness (just because he's adorable)

2015 brought a new look for the annual designed:made event, as it moved to the Town Hall in Hobart and became a multi day showcase rather than the previous one day market format. The event had a wonderful atmosphere and was very successful. Having create some new work specifically for this showcase, I will be adding photos to the general website in the next week or two.

But here are a couple for your entertainment:

Welcome...I have no idea how frequently I'll be updating this

G'day. Welcome to my website, created because I realised I didn't have a website and probably should. In this blog I will post about work I'm doing or have completed, about places my work will be, and possibly about anything else that seems of interest.

On the subject of places my work will be, I will be at the designed: made taster at the Design Centre in Launceston on November 30, and at designed: made at the Princes Wharf No.1 Shed in Hobart on December 1. Designed; made happens twice a year, the first Sunday in May and the first Sunday in December. It is a currated market showcasing Tasmanian designer-makers, including students and emerging designers.
Here's a link to the facebook event for anyone interested: https://www.facebook.com/events/668932066471539/

I have several new pieces I am finishing to be displayed at designed; made in Hobart, including an abstract sculptural piece made from
Huon pine, a new cat, and depending how much sanding I'm able to do, a cherry centrepiece/bowl.

I'm a Tasmanian furniture artist, sculptor, and maker of awesome things (and sometimes lame things). I have a patreon page where you can give me money if you like what I make.
